Chinese smartphone maker Huawei recently succeeded in grabbing much of the spotlight thanks to the launch of their flagship device duo - Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus. Now, their sub-brand Honor is determined to bath in the same spotlight by touting the launch of one of their upcoming smartphone dubbed the Honor V8.
As expected from Honor, the V8 will undercut the Huawei P9 in terms of pricing but that doesn't mean that the brand would compromise much on the specs of the smartphone. In fact, the Honor V8 is teased to be sporting one of the most touted features of the Huawei P9. As for the pricing, leaks suggest that the Honor V8 will be priced at $308, which is roughly Rs 20,000. Without further ado, lets dig deep to find out what all is known about the Honor V8 so far.
Dual Rear Camera setup
As per the teaser image shared by Honor, the upcoming flagship smartphone from the Huawei sub brand will come with a dual rear camera setup. So far it seems that the Honor V8 will carry forward the dual 12MP Leica made rear camera setup which debuted in the Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus.
Octa-core Kirin 950 chip inside
Reports suggest that the Honor V8 will be a mix of both worlds - the flagship Huawei P9 and the upper mid-range Honor 7. While the Honor V8 sports the dual 12MP rear camera setup of Huawei P9, donning the internals would be the older gen Kirin 950 octa core chip. Just to recall the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus come with Kirin 955 chip under the hood. Apart from that the Honor V8 is expected to sport 4GB RAM under the hood.
Full HD display upfront
Some tipsters' claims that the Honor V8 will sport a 5.5 inch Full HD (1920x1080p) display upfront. It's worth noting that the display size of the Honor V8 is similar to that of its flagship sibling from its parent brand Huawei. However, it would be interesting to see if Honor includes a AMOLED display in their upcoming V8 smartphone.
USB Type C in cards
If reports are to be believed the Honor V8 is expected to come with a USB Type C port. Don't worry it would be used for charging and not for replacing your headphone jack!
Powered by 3000mAh battery
Battery is one of the main issues of a flagship smartphone of present date. Fortunately, enough Honor realise that, and is reported to include a modestly large 3000mAH battery on the inside. While it mayn't be as large as the 4000mAH cells found in the Redmi Note 3, but it will surely pack enough to last through a day and half.
To launch on May 10
As per the teaser images shared by Honor, sub-brand of Huawei, the V8 smartphone is scheduled to release on May 10 in China. Honor is however is expected to roll out the product to more international markets soon enough. Apart from the Honor V8, the Huawei P9 Lite is also expected to make a debut at the event.
